Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Untar organized the 20th Entrepreneur Week at Emporium Pluit Mall, Thursday (6/6).
The event lasted for four days until Sunday (9/6), aiming to equip students with real experience in facing the challenges of the business world.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. hopes that this event can be a real proof of the results of lectures at FEB Untar that are in accordance with the needs of the community.
“This event is a place for students to express their abilities in making business plans,” said the Rector.
Through this event, it is hoped that students will not only look for jobs, but can be creative in creating new jobs.
Opening the event, Head of the Bachelor of Business Management Study Program Frangky Selamat, S.E., M.M. expressed his appreciation for the lecturers and students involved in the success of this event.
“This event is a foundation for students to understand the essence of business deeply, not just a simulation,” said Frangky.
Frangky hopes that this activity can continue and become a provision for students to enter the real business world.
One of the highlights of this event was the participation of a student team that previously won third place in the Eco-preneur Challenge at the Franchise & License Expo (FLEI) 22nd Edition.
Gabriel Ervian Hariono, one of the team members, explained that their business idea called “Aroguard” is an aromatherapy candle that also functions as an insect repellent. This business idea came about as a response to a real problem they encountered.
“We believe that by providing multifunctional products, we can help consumers to maintain their health and comfort, while reducing the use of harmful chemical products,” Gabriel explained.
Furthermore, Gabriel revealed that they implemented the entrepreneurship values taught at Untar, such as business planning and problem-solving skills.
Entrepreneur Week has been a routine activity of FEB Untar since 2011. This year, there are 45 tenants involved from students of the Bachelor of Business Management Study Program, supported by the Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD) Untar.
For 13 years, this event has been an important part of the curriculum that allows students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom into practical experience in the real world. (KJ/AW/KJ)
