The Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III collaborated with Untar to organize a socialization program for the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) at the Auditorium of Campus I Untar on Tuesday (14/5).

Head of LLDikti Region III Prof. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc. expressed his appreciation to Untar for facilitating this year’s socialization program, emphasizing that the event is highly important and must be conducted annually.

“One final point that is very important: higher education institutions are required to monitor, evaluate, and ensure that living cost assistance funds are received and managed properly by students who receive KIP assistance,” he stated.

Prof. Toni expressed hope that the socialization program would encourage more higher education institutions to strengthen confidence that the KIP program can be implemented effectively.

In his remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. stated that Untar remains highly open to fostering more intensive collaborations in advancing higher education in Indonesia.

According to him, higher education administrators should be able to explore ways of financing education that are not solely dependent on student tuition fees but also supported by other funding sources.

The session on the implementation policy of the 2024 Merdeka KIP College Program was delivered by Abdul Kahar, Acting Head of the Education Financing Service Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

The KIP socialization program was attended by more than 250 participants, both online and offline, representing higher education institutions under the coordination of LLDikti Region III. (DP/YS/KJ)
