Untar’s Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) held an international seminar themed “Human Resource Management and Organizational Change in SDGs Disruptive Era” at the Auditorium of Untar Campus I, Friday (1/3).

This seminar was held in the framework of international cooperation. In his speech, the Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. hoped that the students and lecturers who participated in this activity could improve their competence, qualifications, and experience in carrying out college activities.

Present as a speaker, Prof. Uichol Kim, Ph.D. from Inha University South Korea said that individualism is increasingly found in this digital era. This is due to economic and management theories that overemphasize profit and selfishness.

“Selfishness and profit make the world full of gluttony, violence, competitiveness, and aggressiveness, which in turn creates an individualistic society,” he said.

Therefore, the need for changes in human resource management in organizational structures is becoming increasingly urgent.

In the process of this change, Prof. Uichol hopes that we will maintain the original culture of Indonesia, including caring and sharing as well as tolerance for religion and cultural values of the nation.

In addition, Prof. Uichol also suggested that the best way to achieve creativity and diversity in sustainable development in Indonesia is a combination of the nation’s original culture and cooperation between individuals.

“No one has perfect knowledge in theory, statistics, or publications. Thus, cooperation is important to learn, manage, and overcome our weaknesses from teammates,” he added.

On the same occasion, Prof. Uichol also advised to dream big as the first step towards a meaningful life.

“Discipline in every endeavor, inspiring others, and working together with others are the keys to a harmonious life,” he concluded.

Also present were Dean of the Faculty of Psychology of Untar Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., Psychologist, Ph.D. and hundreds of students of the Faculty of Psychology of Untar. (CS/AW/KJ)
