New Doctors Expected to Serve Remote Communities

Faculty of Medicine (FK) Untar held the 140th New Doctor Inauguration and 83rd Graduation ceremony at the Auditorium of Campus I Untar, Thursday (29/2).

Through the academic report delivered by the Dean of FK Untar Dr. dr. Noer Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ., 28 new doctors were inaugurated, consisting of 22 women and six men. Nine of them are graduates with honors, and 19 graduates with very satisfactory predicate. Until now, the total number of graduates of FK Untar has reached 4,917 doctors.

Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. when giving a speech said that the challenges in the health sector are increasing with the times. He hoped that Untar’s new doctors can contribute significantly to overcome health problems in Indonesia, especially in remote areas.

“I invite the new doctors to devote themselves and provide the best service to the people in need,” said the Rector.

Head of Tarumanagara Foundation Office Joshua Yohanes, S.H., M.Kn. representing the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board advised the graduating doctors to have a high social sense and dedicate all their knowledge to serve the people of Indonesia.

Representing the graduates, Dr. Blasius Hugo Auriol, one of the outstanding graduates, said that he met many experts in the field of medicine at Untar. This made him determined to share and apply his knowledge by providing an educational platform to the community.

“Meeting with many lecturers who give advice, both medical science and life, makes me more ready to learn and serve the community,” he said. (DN/AW/KJ)
