The celebration of Chinese New Year 2024 was held by Untar with the theme “Untar for Indonesia and the World: Education that Inspires and Innovates” at the Auditorium of Untar Campus I, Wednesday (21/2).
The theme of this year’s Chinese New Year celebration is a reflection of Untar’s commitment to continue advancing the world of education and contributing positively to society.
Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. when giving a speech said that Untar has brought joy and happiness to the community and stakeholders through various achievements and activities.
He emphasized that Untar has contributed positively to the welfare of the community, including social service programs, community service, mentoring and development of MSMEs, and student debriefing programs. In addition, activities were also carried out in an effort to prevent stunting in children and joint learning activities.
“Untar will continue to organize programs that improve quality, such as improving achievement, performance, ranking activities, clustering activities, accreditation and exchange activities for lecturers and students, both at home and abroad,” continued the Rector.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Tarumanagara Foundation Vedrych J. Kusnanto, S.Kom., M.M., representing the Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation, said that Chinese New Year is a moment to welcome hope for the future and better business results.
This celebration is also a form of inclusiveness applied in the Untar environment. Erdam, one of the students who attended the event, said that Untar has facilitated all religions and cultures through celebrations and religious Student Activity Units (UKM).
“The campus environment is very inclusive. Untar is open to students from various backgrounds and does not discriminate,” said the student from North Maluku.
The Lunar New Year celebration attended by Tarumanagara Foundation leaders, Untar academic community, and partners was enlivened by Liong performance by Boen Tek Bio Association and song performance by FEB Untar alumni Licya Cen accompanied by traditional Chinese musical instrument Yangqin.
In addition, martial arts skills from UKM Wushu and Tidayu Dance from UKM Faculty of Psychology “Padmanagara” were also displayed. (DH/AW/YS/PA/KJ)
