Dharmayana Untar Student Activity Unit (UKM) held Metta Day XXIX by organizing a series of social service activities in East Lampung.

With the theme “Moving Together to Spread Universal Love”, Metta Day XXIX was held for nine days, starting on Sunday (21/1) to Monday (29/1).

Chairman of Dharmayana Rizera Dwi Putri revealed that the Metta Day work program is part of their commitment to continue to spread love to others and make a real contribution in improving social conditions in the community.

RIzera also expressed her appreciation to Untar, village officials, sponsors, donors, doctors, and all committees who have supported and worked well together to make Metta Day XXIX a success.

Chief Executive of Metta Day XXIX Justine Salim hoped to be able to provide tangible benefits to the people of East Lampung through this program.

She added, this program is a forum to increase the sense of solidarity and social care among Dharmayana members.

Dharmayana made a real contribution to the local community through a series of social service activities. One of the activities that received great attention was the free medical service provided to 1,840 people, showing Dharmayana’s concern for public health.

In addition, 1,072 students from eight schools in East Lampung also benefited from Metta Day XXIX by receiving gifts and education.

As a Buddhist Student Family (KMB), Dharmayana also showed its concern for the sustainability of religious activities by providing assistance to eleven local monasteries.

Metta Day is one of the programs of Dharmayana, one of the religious UKM at Untar. This program is held to commemorate Metta Day as the day of love on January 1.

Every year, Dharmayana holds this program as an effort to foster love for others regardless of ethnicity, race, and religion.

This year, Metta Day XXIX was held in East Lampung at five village points, namely Purwosari Village, Sumbersari Village, Bukit Raya Village, Pasir Sakti Village, and Mataram Baru Village. (KJ/AW/KJ)
