Untar celebrated Christmas together with all academicians with the theme “Peace on Earth”, Monday (18/12) at Graha Swara Campus of Untar. Also attended Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. and the Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H.
The chosen theme is in line with the PGI-KWI Christmas Theme and the 16th SDG, aiming to promote peace and joy for all levels of society.
Romo Sisko Alexander, MSC, who presented the Christmas reflection, said that Untar is a peace-loving campus. Untar has dedicated itself to educating the nation and realizing peace by becoming an inclusive campus.
He hoped that Untar would become a promoter and ambassador of peace in the world where there are currently many wars.
In this celebration, the audience got a special performance from Romo Sisko who performed playing Sape, a traditional musical instrument of East Kalimantan. Rector of Untar also performed with Romo Sisko by singing a song titled “Indah Caraamu Tuhan”.
In his speech, Rector of Untar invited the entire academic community to use this Christmas celebration moment to reflect on everything that has been done throughout 2023. According to him, this reflection needs to be done to welcome the new year with a better plan.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation reminded three important things before closing the year, namely introspection, retrospection, and perception.
“Introspection of what has been done, retrospection or reflection on what has been done this year, and perception is what will be done in the future,” said Ariawan.
The event was also enlivened by the performance of Tarumanagara University Choir (PSUT), dance from students who are members of UKM Citra Pesona, and other student performances. (ZR/AW/YS/KJ)
