Untar’s Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD) organized the 5th Indonesian Agents of Change Festival (API) with the theme “Advancement of Archipelago Culture”. Involving cooperation with 23 institutions, this festival aims to document agents of change in the field of culture throughout Indonesia.
The culmination of the event was held by presenting a talk show and webinar, Thursday (30/11) at Building K, Campus I Untar. The talk show was hosted by soap opera star and presenter Inez Tagor with speakers Bre Redana (Journalist), Azmi Abubakar (Founder of Peranakan Chinese Library Museum), and Dr. Siti Nuranisaa Parama B, S.Sn., M.Pd. (Lecturer FSRD Untar).
The webinar also presented several practitioners from Atsanti Foundation Youth Development Mentor Ign. Reinard Arga, S.H., M.H., UK Petra Faculty of Law Lecturer Dr. Drs. Bing Bedjo Tanudjaja, M.Si., Untar FSRD Lecturer Dr. Hartini, S.Sn., M.A., and moderated by FSRD Lecturer Arief Adityawan, S.Sn., M.Sn.
The event then continued with the opening of the 2023 API Festival exhibition marked by the signing of the exhibition poster by FSRD Dean Dr. Kurnia Setiawan, S.Sn., M.Hum., Chairman of the 2023 API Festival Committee, and talk show speakers and several other invited guests.
In addition, the API Festival also held a photo and video reels competition which was attended by hundreds of students from various universities throughout Indonesia. Chairman of the API 2023 Festival Committee Agus Danarto, S.Sn., M.Ds. announced that Untar won the first place in the photo competition with the title “Paguyuban Wayang Orang Bharata”. Meanwhile, for the video competition, the first place was won by the ASIA Institute of Technology and Business Malang with the title of the video “Indonesian Culinary Trail in neighboring countries”. This decision is the result of the assessment of the jury from various universities.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. who attended this activity expressed his hope that this festival would become an annual activity with global impact, not only in Indonesia but also the world.
This festival is a program initiated by FSRD Untar in 2019 and in collaboration with various institutions. By involving wider collaboration and cross-institutions to the region, it is hoped that the API Festival can continue to inspire to encourage the emergence of agents of change in the contemporary era.
The event was attended by Untar leaders, API Festival 2023 network, as well as students and lecturers from various universities throughout Indonesia. The event was also enlivened with a movement demo by the Bangau Putih Body Movement Association which performed silat gymnastics and Tao Kung Movement which aims to improve health. (KJ/YS/KJ)
