General election is a democratic party that is the right of all citizens, because the fate of this nation is in the hands of the people. The Indonesian people have the sovereignty and power to lead this country towards Indonesia Emas 2045. The momentum of this general election must be utilized as well as possible and refrain from abstentions.

This was conveyed by Prof. Dr. Rasji, S.H., M.H. as one of the speakers at the “National Dialogue” event. This activity is a collaboration between Untar and Radio Sonora, supported by the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), held on Wednesday (1/11) at Untar campus auditorium, Jakarta.

Other speakers were member of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP RI) J. Kristiadi, Expert of Bawaslu RI Iji Jaelani, and Technical Deputy of KPU RI Eberta Kawima.

Rasji, who is also the Vice Rector of Untar, invited students as the young generation, who are the largest voters in the 2024 elections, to use their voting rights as well as possible.

“Make the most of this election opportunity and do not abstain, because the fate of this nation is in our hands,” said Prof. Rasji.

On the other hand, J. Kristiadi explained the role of the Election Organizer Honor Council (DKPP RI). He emphasized that DKPP functions to enforce the Election Organizer Code of Ethics (KEPP). KEPP is very important so that elections can truly produce leaders who are able to lead the Indonesian nation to achieve its goals, in accordance with the 1945 Constitution.

Meanwhile, Eberta Kawima and Iji Jaelani both hope that students can participate and make the best use of the election.

The national dialogue, which was opened by Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. and attended by Untar students, was held as a means of learning democracy for the younger generation. Also present was the Director of KG Radio Network Markus Gunawan.
