The Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III held a Technical Guidance for Accelerating the Career Path of Lecturers from Head Lecturer to Professor in the Research Aspect, Thursday (12/10).

This activity is an effort to improve the facilitation of research quality and community service for lecturers in LLDikti III.

Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. was invited as a resource person for the event.

Prof. Agustinus explained about scientific journals which are publications published periodically by a professional organization or academic institution that contains articles that are products of scientific thought empirically (research articles) or logically (thought articles) in certain fields of science.

Lecturers are required to publish articles in reputable scientific journals in order to submit proposals for academic promotion to Head Lecturer and Professor. Reputable international scientific journals recognized by the Higher Education, among others, must meet requirements such as Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) above 0.1 or have a Journal Impact Factor (JIF) from Web of Science (WoS) of at least 0.05 and Journals Not Cancelled/Discontinued Status in Scopus/WoS.

Participants were also given the opportunity to ask questions directly related to how to write journal articles and find journals that can be used as reputable publication media according to the participants’ research fields.

This event is very good as a medium for discussion and exchanging experiences in producing reputable research publications, so that it can meet the needs of lecturers’ academic promotion to Head Lector and Professor. (PA/API/KJ)
