A total of 30 Untar students were at INTI International University campus, Malaysia in order to take part in the student exchange program. This week-long activity is an implementation of the cooperation between Untar and INTI, which has been in effect since March 2023.
Previously, 30 students from INTI participated in the program at Untar campus in Jakarta. While in Jakarta, their activities were filled with visiting several historical tourist attractions and various companies including SCTV, Indosiar, and PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM).
The program aimed to give students the opportunity to learn new things from both countries, explore each campus, expand networks, and increase collaboration and tolerance for cultural differences.
“Students are given direct opportunities to learn new things from both countries, explore each campus, expand networks, and increase collaboration and tolerance for cultural differences,” said Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E.
This program is not only a proof of cooperation between two universities as a representation of two neighboring countries, but also provides many experiences for participating students. Students from both campuses learn directly about the culture and work environment in their respective countries. For example, during the visit in Jakarta, students were invited to learn various Indonesian cultures, such as playing angklung and making batik.
Similarly, Untar students together with their colleagues from INTI conducted various workshop activities, such as traditional Chinese medicine, videography, and Fablab. In addition, Untar students were also invited to visit historical and unique tourist attractions while in Kuala Lumpur on prior September 18-23.
One of the INTI students, Lee Jia Ying, revealed that she enjoyed her time during the student exchange program in Jakarta.
“We are happy to be a part of this exchange program, we really appreciate Untar. Through this program, we learned many things during our week in Indonesia,” she said.
Meanwhile, Untar student Valerie Vanora said that the program provided an opportunity to learn about culture and history, as well as unforgettable insights and new experiences.
Head of Programme of INTI International University Joana Jaya appreciates Untar that has accepted INTI students at Untar campus.
“Thank you Untar for welcoming us with warmth. I hope that apart from this activity, Untar’s collaboration with INTI can continue in various other activities,” continued Joana.
In addition to students from INTI, there are four students from Heilbronn University Germany who participated in this program. Currently, they are studying at the Faculty of Economics and Business for one semester. (DN/YS/AW)
