Untar held National Seminar on Computer and Telecommunication Technology (SNTKT) XI 2023 and National Seminar on Machinery and Industry (SNMI) XI 2023 with the theme “Multidisciplinary Research to Support National Industrial Development in Industry 4.0 Era and Sustainable Development” at Untar Auditorium, Thursday (5/10).
The speakers were Professor of Mechanical Engineering of Universitas Indonesia Prof. Ir. Nyoman Pujawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., CSCP, CSCM, Dean of Interdisciplinary School of Management and Technology of Institut Sepuluh November Prof. (Em.) Dr. Ir. Budiarso, M.Eng., and Chief Executive Officer of Aerofood ACS Ir. I Wayan Susena, M.M., and Untar Civil Engineering lecturer Dr. Ir. Erwin Siahaan, M.Si as the moderator.
Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. said that the research made by lecturers and students is expected to be useful for the community, and can be used as Untar’s contribution to society.
Untar Mechanical Engineering lecturer Mohammad Agung Saryatmo, S.T., M.M., M.T., Ph.D., as the head of committee, explained the importance of university collaboration with the professional world, industry, and the business world, especially in the field of research. This collaboration can produce research that can produce various benefits for society.
In his presentation, Prof. (Em.) Budiarso suggested the use of pico hydro as a means of electrifying remote areas in Indonesia. Pico hydro is a hydroelectric power plant that can produce up to 5 kW of power and can be made using easily found tools, so it can be easily applied in less affordable areas.
Meanwhile, Prof. Nyoman explained that in the 4.0 era, the most important thing for industry or research is sustainability. Currently, large companies must contribute in reducing emissions, so sustainability needs to be an important agenda.
Furthermore, Ir. I Wayan Susena explained that new information technologies, such as IoT, blockchain, and big data analytics, are used for data velocity.
The national seminar was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Harto Tanujaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., and his staff, students, and general participants. (ZR/AW)
