Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan and Head of Women’s Correctional Institution (LPP) Class IIA Jakarta Ade Agustina, A.Md.I.P., S.H., M.H. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the 34th Inauguration of Master of Professional Psychology, at Untar Campus I, Wednesday (17/5).
This MoU strengthens Untar’s involvement to the community in need by conducting joint activities with LPP Jakarta. The involvement of Untar’s academic community, especially the Faculty of Psychology, is to provide training to LPP Class IIA Jakarta employees, which focuses on coaching in the field of psychology such as assessment and counseling.
“Cooperation with various parties is one form of implementation of Untar for Indonesia. Through this program, Untar is expected to increasingly feel its presence in the community,” said the Rector.
Furthermore, the Rector said that Untar will continue to serve the community through lecturers, students, and alumni in community service programs.
Ade Agustina emphasized that this cooperation is a form of synergy between government institutions and universities. According to her, this collaboration can improve services to the public.
Ade hopes that this collaboration can improve the ability of LPP employees, so that they are more qualified in fostering the community.
Not only through government institutions, Untar’s services through lecturers and students of the Faculty of Psychology are also felt by Kasih Anugerah Orphanage in Jakarta.
The mother of Kasih Anugerah Orphanage, Sri Pantes Wandini, expressed her appreciation to the students of Master of Professional Psychology who have practiced in her place. According to her, all students are patient and painstaking in dealing with orphanage children who have different backgrounds and bring happiness.
Sri hopes that the knowledge gained at Untar can continue to be practiced to serve others. “For Untar, keep up the spirit and keep moving forward to be a blessing for the nation and country of Indonesia,” Sri said when giving the inauguration message in front of the students.
Untar has collaborated with various educational institutions, industries, and government agencies. In accordance with the tagline “Untar for Indonesia”, Untar will continue to collaborate to provide beneficial outcomes for the people of Indonesia and the world. (AW/YS/AW)
