Tarumanagara Entrepreneurs Forum (TEF) was once again held by Untar and the Alumni Association of Untar Faculty of Economics at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta, Friday (12/5). This time, TEF raised the theme “The Importance of Harmony and Professionalism in Family Business” which discussed the role of family constitution and non-family professionals in family business.

The TEF activity also organized a talk show themed “The Role of Family Constitution”, presenting speakers President Commissioner of PT Mitra Keluarga Karyasehat, Tbk. Jozef Darmawan Angkasa; President Commissioner of Bluebird Group Holding Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, and President Director of PT Sri Rezeki Isman, Tbk. Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto as a second generation family business actor in Indonesia.

In his presentation, Iwan explained that the family constitution outlines the role of the family in a professional business, as well as a mutual agreement to leave a legacy with the sustainability of the company.

As the second generation of his family company, Iwan implemented the family constitution after seeing a family business that failed due to not concentrating on the development of the company.

Meanwhile, according to Bayu, the family constitution in his company provides a family role in a business that runs from generation to generation. Through the implementation of a family council, conflict coordination and company resolution can be carried out.

On the same occasion, Josef emphasized the maintenance of the entrepreneurial spirit in family businesses. The family constitution connects the founding generation with subsequent generations. The passing of generations brings changes to the surrounding environment.

In addition to the talk show, there was also the inauguration of Untar Family Business Excellence and Research Center (Untar Fabex RC) by the Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation Associate Professor Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. together with Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., Asean Eng., Dean of FEB Untar Dr. Sawidji Widoatmodjo, S.E., M.M., MBA, and Lecturer of FEB Untar as well as chairman of FE Untar Alumni Association Dr. Hadi Cahyadi, S.E., MBA, MCL.

In his speech, Ariawan Gunadi expressed his pride in FEB Untar alumni who are widely spread throughout Indonesia.

TEF was attended by the Chairman of PT Kalbe Farma, Tbk. Bernadette Ruth Irawati Setiady, CEO and President Director of PT Indonesian Paradise Property, Tbk. Anthony Prabowo Susilo, and Director of Ciputra Group Cipta Ciputra Harun who discussed the role of company members outside the family. (VW/YS/AW)
