Leaders must own creativity, responsibility, scientific knowledge, and proficiency. Becoming a trusted person to manage students is a practice to lead in the future.

A leader also must be able to be lead and be humble all the time. A leader also must be able to comprehend the situation, care others, and preserve tolerance.

That was the statement of Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU, ASEAN Eng. as the invited speaker, in front of SMAN 1 Tanjung Pandan Belitung students, when presenting a leadership seminar, Tuesday (4/4).

He added, there are three main things that have to be mastered by a leader, which are good knowledge, skill, and attitude.
“All of you will be leaders from SMAN 1 Tanjung Pandan,” said Rector.

Seminar was attended by the Principal of SMAN 1 Tanjung Pandan Jantimala, M.Pd. along with other school leaders and OSIS students. Head of Untar Public Relations Dra. Paula T. Anggarina, M.M. who joined Rector in this seminar, became the moderator of the seminar.

Jantimala appreciated Untar, particularly Rector, for accepting the collaboration as the speaker of seminar at her school.

“It is an honor for the Rector of Untar to be able to visit SMAN 1 Tanjung Pandan as the speaker of this leadership seminar. We expect a lot of good leaders will be produced in this seminar,” she said.

In Belitung, Rector of Untar also attended the MoU signing between Untar and Belitung Regency Government, witnessed by Deputy Regent of Belitung Isyak Meirobie, S.Sn., M.Si. The cooperation covers various scopes, particularly in education.

Currently, there are a few students of Untar from various study programs undertaking Thematic KKN activity for one month at schools in Sijuk District. (DW/YS/AW)
