Lecturers and students of Untar have potentials to be exposed to the society. Good things done by lecturers and students need to be covered by the media to balance negative news surfaced recently.

Untar wants inspiring activities to be published to motivate the society to do good things.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU, AE said that during the visit to Sonora Radio studio, Jakarta, Monday (13/2), as media visit organized by Untar Publci Relations in order to strengthen cooperation with media.

Director of Kompas Gramedia Radio Network Markus Gunawan, Vice Director Viliny Lesma, Station Manager Sonora Radio Johanes Prabowo, and reporter Saortua Marbun greeted Untar delegates at Sonora Radio.

Rector said that this is the era where no one can work alone. Therefore, Untar always build a collaboration network with all parties, including media.

He added, Untar and Sonora Radio strive to convey knowledge and understanding to the society.

“We invite media, especially Sonora Radio, to make a change together, for a better society,” said Rector.

Markus stated that Sonora Radio is ready to support and assist Untar, and open to collaborations.

Meanwhile, Viliny added that Sonora Radio has Sonora Broadcasting Academy where lecturers of Untar could contribute by providing materials. Furthermore, students of Untar could be the participants of events held by Sonora Radio.

The discussion also discussed on various fields potential for cooperation, such as internship and opportunity to be a speaker for lecturers and students, teaching practitioner, and joint activities.

In particular for internship program for lecturers, Rector admitted that this program has not received enough attention. Internship for lecturers is needed to provide real-world experience in professional world.

In the visit, Rector of Untar was accompanied by Head of Public Relations Dra. Paula T. Anggarina, M.M., Head of Student and Alumni Affairs Institute Dr. Adianto, M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Communication Science Dr. Riris Loisa, M.Si., Head of Bachelor of Communication Study Program Sinta Paramita, SIP, MA, and Head of Cooperation Office Dr. Hugeng, S.T., M.T.

Rector and Untar delegates visited Sonora Radio studio, located at Kompas Gramedia Building 5th floor, where Rector was invited to become a host live at the studio. (YS/AW)
