Untar and Higher Education Service Institute (LLDikti) Region III (LLDIKTI III) collaborated in organizing the 2nd Public Relations Festival, titled “Improvement of Public Relations Quality through MBKM Publications” at Untar campus auditorium, Tuesday (24/1).
This event was attended by Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. and leaders of universities under LLDikti III. Present as speakers Head of LLDikti III Dr. Ir. Paristiyani Nurwadani, M.P., Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU, AE, Coordinator of General Affairs, Public Relations, and Cooperation of Ditjen Diktiristek Yayat Hendayana, S.S., M.Si., and Sub-Coordinator of Public Relations of Ditjen Diktiristek Doddy Zulkifli Indra Atmaja, S.I.Kom., M.Si.
The second Public Relations Festival was held to socialize Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program.
Rector of Untar emphasized on the importance of public relations as the spearhead of service to the public, particularly in delivering information to the public. Public relations is the bridge to the society that seeks for information regarding to higher education, especially in this information era.
“MBKM improvement programs must be strengthened by public relations in order to be known more by the society, through collaborations with LLDikti III and other universities public relations,” explained Rector.
This event discussed on the role of higher education public relations in supporting Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program.
Head of LLDikti region III considers the role of public relations is important, especially in this digital era, to convey information relating to programs and policies, including MBKM. “Public relations becomes an important and inseperable part of programs conducted by an institution,” she continued.
On the same occasion, Yayat Hendayana stated that the role and function of public relations of Ditjen Diktiristek as the spearhead in conveying government programs and policies, information source and manager (KIP), and to encourage society participation in government programs. Meanwhile, Doddy Zulkifli Indra Atmaja emphasized on the importance of an institution to build relations with media, along with the related strategies.
Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. said that Untar was honored to be the host of the second Public Relations Festival. “May this event brings positive results and improve achievements to all parties, making this campus to be a top-tier university,” he continued.
A focus group discussion (FGD) was also organized in this event to discuss on the role of public relations in universities under LLDikti region III. (YS/AW)
