Tri Suyono obtained Doctor of Civil Engineering degree after succeeded to defend his dissertation titled “Engineering Method of Pipeline Assembly as Innovation in Planning Inter-island Underwater Drinking Water Pipeline Network,” Tuesday (17/1) at Untar auditorium.
Doctor’s degree along with satisfactory predicate was obtained after passing the open dissertation defense before Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., AE, as main promotor, Dr. Ir. Wati Asriningsih Pranoto, M.T. (co-promotor), Dr. Ir. Najid, M.T., Prof. Ir. F.J. Putuhena, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Prof. Ir. Joko Sujono, M.Eng., Ph.D.
This lecturer of Universitas Khairun discusses the solution of drinking water supply for small islands of Indonesia that do not have adequate drinking water supply, using easier and more effective underwater pipeline assembly and repair technique.
“TJ-19 method is very suitable and easily executed in assembling underwater pipeline, compared to existing methods which need more advanced facilities and higher costs,” explained Tri.
From the research, Tri has published ten international-scaled and Scopus indexed scientific works, and has obtained three intellectual property rights from the works. Aside of that, his dissertation has been recognized by Untar as the winner in student scientific works competition in postgraduate category.
Tri, who becomes the 61st Doctor to graduate Doctor of Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering Untar, has received Subroto Award in Individually-Initiated Energy Innovation Category from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. (DN/YS/AW)
