Overcoming Specialist Doctor Deficit | Video

The necessity for doctors is increasing over the time, especially specialist doctors. But ironically, the numbers of specialist doctors in Indonesia are far from ideal. Indonesia needs at least 240 thousand specialist doctors, but currently, the numbers are not even half of it. To overcome this condition, The Ministry of Health created several new policies to combat the deficit of specialist doctors in Indonesia.

“The government is making sure every Indonesians, including those in remote areas, are able to access specialist doctor service,” explained Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Untar Dr. dr. Noer Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ. in Editorial Media Indonesia, live on Metro TV, Monday (12/12).

Realizing the importance of the role of faculty of medicine in producing specialist doctors, the government created a breakthrough to optimize faculties of medicine in Indonesia. Not just at state universities, but also at private universities.

“Faculties of Medicine at A or Excellent-accredited private universities are given huge opportunities by the government to educate specialist doctors,” he said/
