ISEP Untar 2022: International Student Discussion Forum

In the end of July 2022, Untar developed students’ potency in international level through International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). ISEP 2022 was divided into two main activities, which were lectures from entrepreneurs, professionals, and academicians, and scientific writing composition.

Held in 3 days, throughout 25, 27, and 29 July, then continued to 25 August 2022, in which the participants had to present their research outcomes in an international conference.

The one-month event titled “Digital Entrepreneurship Innovation” was participated by 700 bachelor’s and master’s student from universities across Indonesia and 5 Asian countries, including India, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng opened the event by stating his pride of the students seeing that through ISEP, Independent Learning Independent Campus program could be implemented. Students were taught to broaden their knowledge, not only from academicians, but also entrepreneurs and professionals, in order to prepare students to enter work or business world. Students were motivated to collaborate, cooperate, widen relationship, and share respective knowledge between students from national and international campuses. “ISEP is expected to produce quality scientific papers which will be published in reputable journals. This event is supported by amazing speakers of academicians, entrepreneurs, and professionals, providing students with knowledge, theory, and practices able to increase their soft skills and hard skill., added Rector.

First day session was brought by a young Fintech entrepreneur (alumni of Untar Architecture) Heinrich Vincent (Founder & CEO Bizhare). Presented “Startup Business Development” topic, Vincent spoke about ways to develop business knowledge, creativity, and leadership skills throughout his study at Untar Architecture, by participating in various seminars, workshops, and organizations. Getting in a very different world than in campus, by investing and finding formula on how to help owners of small business grow. Started from the will to help the society, he launched a concept of gathering resources from the public to help business fundings. Bizhare then formed as a securities crowdfunding platform. “Improve knowledge and experience, find problems to be solved, time management, commitment and form a team are the first things to do when starting a startup business,” said Vincent.

In line with the first session, the event then continued with Financial Management in Digital Era by Jongki Djujono Widjaja, Partner at Ernst & Young Indonesia. Through professional perspective, Jongki explained about digital work environment and how it affects himself and his team as an accountant and consultant. “Current digital disruption shows three main priorities of why businesses need to be supported by digital technology, which are management reporting (MIS) and analysis, Repetitive day-to-day transaction accounting, financial statement closing process,” said Jongki.

Final session was presented by Dr. Hetty Karunia Tunjungsari, S.E., M.Si., an academician of the Faculty of Economics and Business Untar who explained scientific writings technique.-TB-
