Sugito obtained Doctor of Civil Engineering Untar, after succeeded in defending his dissertation relating to the usage of shell and glass waste as fillers in normal concrete and polymer concrete with hot water curing, Wednesday (20/7). “Normal and polymer concrete with the addition of steel sand, shell waste, glass waste, and epoxy resin have not had the right mixture composition and optimum temperature in curing process,” explained Sugito in Open Dissertation Defense at Campus I Untar.
“This research is aimed to find the optimum mixture composition in order to produce strong concrete in the right and short amount of time,” added Sugito.
Declared graduated by Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.M., I.P.U., Asean Eng. with 3,97 Grade Point Average and very satisfying predicate, Dr. Sugito is the 57th Doctor of Civil Engineering Faculty of Engineering Untar.
In the same occasion, Main Promoter Prof. Ir. Sofia W. Alisjahbana, M.Sc., Ph.D. stated her message to the new Doctor. “The research that was done and the Doctorate degree come with a big responsibility. A doctor has a responsibility to produce beneficial research for the society,” she said.
The Open Dissertation Defense was lead by Rector, attended by Prof. Ir. Sofia W. Alisjahbana, M.Sc., Ph.D. as the main promoter, Dr. Ir. Hery Riyanto, M.T. as the co-promoter, Prof. Dr. Ir. Carunia Mulya Hamid Firdausy M.A. as the external examiner member, Prof. Ir. Roesdiman Soegiarso, M.Sc., Ph.D. as the internal examiner member. -SS-
