Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) participated in the International Student Mobility Program 2026 with Jiaxing Transportation School in Jiaxing, China, from 16–25 August 2026. The program, themed “China’s Speed and Warmth in My Eyes,” was part of efforts to broaden students’ academic experiences while creating opportunities for international collaboration.

The 10-day program focused on developing knowledge and skills in transportation technology and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the transportation ecosystem.

Participants learned about various topics, including High-Speed Rail (HSR) technology, modern urban development in Shanghai, the future of the automotive industry, artificial intelligence, and drone technology.

Learning activities extended beyond the classroom. Participants also took part in high-speed train driving simulations, station and fleet service training, and simulations using railway signal maintenance systems.

The program also provided participants with cross-cultural experiences, including a visit to Yu Garden in Shanghai to learn about traditional Chinese culture and craftsmanship.

Participation in the international mobility program is expected to broaden students’ understanding of developments in transportation technology and industry at the global level, while also creating opportunities for further academic collaboration between Untar and international partners.

The Untar delegation was led by Ir. Didi Widya Utama, Ph.D., and Dr. Ir. Wati Asriningsih Pranoto, M.T. The group consisted of three Mechanical Engineering students, one Civil Engineering student, one Industrial Engineering student, and two Master’s students in Civil Engineering. (CJ/YS)
