Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) is strengthening its preparations to offer a study program based on Distance Learning (PJJ) through a briefing with a team from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) at Untar Campus I, Wednesday (9/9/2026).

The briefing discussed several aspects that higher education institutions need to fulfill in implementing PJJ, including academic requirements, governance, and learning strategies that allow students to pursue higher education more flexibly without being limited by space and time.

Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., said the briefing from Kemendiktisaintek was an important part of ensuring that PJJ is implemented in accordance with higher education regulations and standards.

“Through this briefing, we hope Untar can prepare for the implementation of PJJ comprehensively so that it can reach a wider community while maintaining the quality of learning,” he said.

Chair of the Academic Higher Education Development Team Henriette Minerva Weno, S.H., explained that the implementation of PJJ, among others, refers to Article 43 of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 7 of 2020. Its implementation emphasizes equal access to quality educational services and opportunities, accountability and transparency, as well as learning interactions that can take place across space and time.

According to Henriette, PJJ is also one way to expand public access to higher education, particularly for those facing geographical or mobility limitations.

“We hope that no individual will be hindered by distance or have difficulty accessing transportation to pursue education,” she said.

The briefing was also attended by Vice Rector of Untar Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog; Head of the Professional Certification Institute and Chair of the Untar PJJ Team Dr. Drs. Rezi Erdiansyah, M.S.; Head of the Institute for Academic Learning and Innovation Dr. Steven Darmawan, S.T., M.T.; as well as leaders of various institutes and faculties at Untar. (CJ/YS)
