A total of 437 participants took part in Young Suka Lari 2026, organized by the Faculty of Communication Sciences (Fikom) of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) at Sunset Avenue Citra 8, Jakarta, on Saturday (06/06/2026). Through a five-kilometer run themed “Color Your Emotion,” participants were encouraged to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining both physical and mental well-being amid growing attention to youth wellness issues.

Carrying the theme “One Step, A Million Stories,” Young Suka Lari was one of the events featured in Communication Week 2026, organized by Fikom Untar students. The theme was chosen to highlight the idea that every individual has a unique life journey, experiences, and emotional story.

The “Color Your Emotion” concept was brought to life through the use of colors representing a variety of emotions. Through this approach, participants were encouraged to recognize, accept, and manage their emotions as part of maintaining mental health alongside physical fitness.

Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Dr. Sinta Paramita, S.I.P., M.A., emphasized that physical and mental health are inseparable. “Through this event, we want to encourage young people to understand that everyone has different stories, challenges, and emotions. Physical activities such as running can be an effective way to maintain balance between body and mind while also fostering positive social interactions,” she said.

She added that the event also provided students with an opportunity to apply the competencies they have acquired during their studies through programs that benefit the wider community.

Meanwhile, Keiko, Chair of the Organizing Committee for Young Suka Lari 2026, explained that the event was designed as an inclusive space where people of all ages could exercise while building positive social connections.

“Through Young Suka Lari, we aim to create a space that can be enjoyed by everyone. We hope this event not only encourages healthier lifestyles but also strengthens public awareness of the importance of mental health,” she said.

Young Suka Lari 2026 was organized in collaboration with Citra Garden City and supported by Ciputra Hospital and Ciputra Cardiac Center, which provided free health screenings for participants. Samuel, Estate Manager of Citra 8, described the continued collaboration as a positive synergy in promoting healthy lifestyles within the community. As both the event venue and one of its supporters, Citra 8 also expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by participants throughout the event.

In addition to support from healthcare partners and area management, the event also received backing from the running community. Adventure Runners participated in supporting the implementation of Young Suka Lari 2026. The community’s involvement formed part of broader efforts to cultivate a healthy and active lifestyle culture while strengthening students’ ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Through this event, Fikom Untar sought to raise public awareness of the importance of active and healthy living while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Young Suka Lari is expected to continue serving as a collaborative platform that fosters student creativity while making meaningful contributions to society. (Fikom Untar)
