Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) has recorded a notable achievement at both the national and international levels. According to the 2026 university rankings released by EduRank, Untar placed 10th among Indonesia’s best private universities and ranked 50th among all universities nationwide.
The result places Untar among Indonesia’s leading private higher education institutions amid increasingly intense competition in the higher education sector. EduRank is widely used as a global reference that evaluates universities based on multiple indicators, including research quality and productivity, the impact of scientific publications, academic contribution, and international institutional visibility.
Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. said the achievement reflects recognition of the university’s educational quality and its ongoing quality-improvement efforts.
“Untar’s inclusion among the top 10 private universities in Indonesia reflects growing public confidence in the quality of education we provide. This achievement motivates Untar to further strengthen its academic reputation, expand strategic collaborations, and increase its contribution at the national and global levels.”
He added that recognition through international rankings serves not only as an institutional performance indicator but also as a means of strengthening trust among the public, prospective students, parents, industry, and institutional partners. Untar will therefore continue to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service while expanding cooperation networks nationally and internationally.
Head of Untar’s Ranking and Reputation Institute, Dr. Bagus Mulyawan, S.Kom., M.M., said the result indicates a positive trend in Untar’s academic reputation at both the national and global levels. He explained that the ranking outcome reflects a cumulative effect of strategic initiatives to strengthen research quality, increase scientific publication productivity, and broaden international collaboration networks.
“Untar’s position shows that the quality-improvement programs implemented so far are on the right track. The next challenge is to maintain consistency and strengthen the indicators used by international ranking institutions.”
The achievement underscores Untar’s commitment to developing high-quality higher education that is globally competitive and responsive to societal needs. Amid rapid changes in the education landscape, the result provides an important foundation for reinforcing Untar’s reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading private universities.
The EduRank 2026 results also indicate that Untar’s transformation and quality-enhancement efforts are gaining broader recognition. The achievement strengthens Untar’s position as a trusted higher education institution capable of competing in both the national and global higher education landscape. (VC/YS)
