The Student Representative Council (DPM) of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) held a seminar titled “Gen Z Speaks: From Campus to the Public Sphere” on Wednesday (19/11/2025) at the Auditorium of the Main Building, Campus I Untar. The event was attended by students from various faculties and featured two national figures as speakers: Ganjar Pranowo, S.H., M.IP. and Taufik Basari, S.H., S.Hum., LL.M. The seminar was moderated by Sharon Marilyn, S.H.

The event was opened by Untar Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog, who expressed appreciation for DPM Untar’s initiative in organizing a public discussion relevant to students.

“I am pleased that DPM Untar successfully organized this event. In academia, we need to speak based on data and facts. I hope this seminar provides participants with new insights from experienced speakers,” she stated.

Through the discussion session, the speakers shared their perspectives on the role of the younger generation in the public sphere, political dynamics, and the importance of student involvement in social issues in a critical and responsible manner. The presence of the two national politicians provided students with the opportunity to gain direct insight into the realities of public decision-making, the challenges of political communication, and how the voices of the younger generation can create a meaningful impact on national development.

The seminar reflects Untar’s commitment to fostering a generation of young people who are aware of their roles, broad-minded, and capable of placing their critical voices in the right spaces and through the right approaches.
