Pope Francis, known as the Holy Father – the supreme leader of the Catholic religion in the world, recently visited various countries as an Apostolic Visit with the theme ‘Faith, Fraternity and Defense’. Of the many countries visited, Indonesia is one of them, Pope Francis arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/9/2024).

Pope Francis’ arrival in Jakarta was warmly welcomed by all Indonesian people. He invites us all to live in love and side by side without seeing differences, this is in line with his mission to spread the teachings of love, simplicity, and brotherhood between people.

“To strengthen harmony, peace, and efforts to eliminate inequality and suffering that still persist in some parts of the country, the Catholic Church is committed to enhancing interreligious dialog,” he said.

Pope Francis has often emphasized the importance of love as the basis of human relations, encouraging people to support and respect each other, regardless of differences in background. On various occasions, the Pope invites us to understand that every individual has the same value and dignity.

As students, we can apply the humanist values as taught by Pope Francis, in our daily lives and the world of lectures. This can be done by embracing friends out there who have differences with us, helping anyone in trouble regardless of background, and contributing to eliminating social inequality and applying the principle of simplicity.
