Untar held Humanities Festival at Auditorium Campus I Untar, Tuesday (27/6). Festival Humaniora is Untar’s routine activity held every semester that gives awards to outstanding students and lecturers.

Head of the Learning Institute Dr. Ir. Henny Wiyanto, M.T., I.P.M. in her speech said that Humanities Festival is part of Humanities learning plan which is held with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system.

This system requires students who take Humanities courses to produce outcomes that benefit the study program and university through collaboration with other students and lecturers.

On the other hand, Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. reminded students to always produce positive performance wherever they are.

“Hopefully we will increasingly realize our role as students, as citizens, and as citizens of the world, to be able to produce positive things where we carry out service tasks as professionals,” said the Rector in his session entitled “State Defense Awareness through Active Role in Service according to Profession”.

Rector hopes that outstanding students and lecturers who receive awards can become role models and make positive contributions to society.

The key speakers were Head of Subdivision of Supervision of BNPT Faizal Yan Aulia and Director of Education Network of Corruption Eradication Commission Masagung Dewanto, S.E., M.Sc.

In his session, Faizal gave advice to students to deal with radicalism. According to Faizal, the key is critical thinking. What happens on the internet should not be swallowed whole.

“By thinking critically, our mindset will get used to dealing with something different, as well as questioning something that is unclear and not swallowing it whole,” said Faizal.

Dewanto in his session discussed State Defense Awareness Through Anti-KKN Active Role. He hopes that students can learn and be aware from now on of the risks of corruptive behavior in the student world, such as fake proposals, bribery, misuse of scholarship funds, absenteeism, cheating, plagiarism, and many more.

He added that students can start learning anti-corruption through education such as anti-corruption education, building the integrity of the education ecosystem through supporting habituation, and being active in the anti-corruption movement.

The contribution was reflected by the first place winner of the poster competition and video competition, Team Antakara Bawana. The team raised the theme of Batik preservation in Indonesia or Tresno Ambhatik, which means love for batik.

According to them, the theme is relevant to the preservation of batik among the young generation of Indonesia, which has been increasingly eroded by outside cultures.

The Humanities Festival this time gave awards to 72 groups of participants in the scientific article competition, 136 groups of participants in the poster competition, and 63 groups of participants in the video competition. (YI/AW)
