The role of education as the foundation of the government to encourage the achievement of sustainable development goals and objectives in the era of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encourages Untar to provide quality higher education services.
This was conveyed by Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU, AE. in the 82nd Untar Graduation Ceremony at the Jakarta Convention Center, Saturday (10/11).
“Untar provides a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and anti-violence learning environment so that the learning process can be effective for all Untar academicians,” he said.
Rector hopes that the graduates can bring the good name of Untar at the national and international levels, in line with Untar’s tagline which was originally Untar for Indonesia, was added with Untar for the World since 1 October.
With the theme “Untar for Indonesia and the World: Implementation of Quality Education to Support the Achievement of SDGs”, the 82nd graduation ceremony graduated 1,240 graduates, consisting of 771 graduates of undergraduate programs, and 469 graduates of Master and Doctoral programs.
Also present were the Head of Higher Education Service Institute Region III (LLDikti III) Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc and the Rector of Universitas Nusa Cendana (Undana) Kupang, Prof. Dr. drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc.
Rector of Undana in his speech congratulated all graduates and graduates who have successfully completed their studies well. “Hopefully the expertise and competence you have can benefit the community according to the Untar for Indonesia tagline. I see for myself that Untar is a very good university,” he said.
The Head of LLDikti III appreciated Untar’s activeness in producing quality human resources (HR) and active in implementing educational programs to support the achievement of SDGs.
“This is Untar’s commitment to contribute in achieving SDGs, one of which is shown through the achievement of QS four-star rating,” he said.
Untar has just received a 4-Star award from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Rating which was presented at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The rating assessment is obtained from several indicators, namely teaching, internationalization, facilities, arts and culture, alumni job readiness, academic development, accounting and finance, and openness/inclusiveness. Untar received the highest assessment or five-star rating in the category of alumni work readiness (employability) and openness/inclusiveness.
In this graduation ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between Untar, Undana, and GPBI Ora et Labora Sungailiat Education Foundation in order to collaborate in building cooperation to support quality education through the implementation of the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program.
