Implementation of cooperation between Untar and West Manggarai Regency in supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that has been agreed last year, gives a positive contribution to the life of society, especially in the field of education and economics. Untar team represented by Research and Community Engagement Institute (LPPM) conducted a series of event to several educational institution, which are SMKN 1 Labuan Bajo, SD, SMP, and SMA Lentera Harapan Labuan Bajo, and SDK Wae Medu Labuan Bajo on 7-10 June 2023.
The event that was led by Head of LPPM Untar Ir. Jap Tji Beng, MMSI., M.Psi., Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE., accompanied by Dean of the Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) Sri Tiatri, Ph.D., Psikolog, lecturer of FPsi Dr. Dra. Fransisca Iriani Roesmala Dewi, M.Si., and lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology Desi Arisandi, S.Kom., M.T.I., introduced information technology to students and teachers to prepare them face the future technology.
Participants were given education on the most update usage of information and digital technology, artificial intelligence, IoT, big data, enterprise system, business analytics, business intelligence, and introduction on Multi-Level Framework of Technology Acceptance and Use. This learning develops critical thinking skill in preparing STEM understandings; also independent learning in current information tehnology development.
Aside of visiting the Office of Regent of West Manggarai, Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU, AE along with Head of Public Relations Office Dra. Paula Tjatoerwidya Anggarina, M.M., LPPM Publication Manager Dr. Hetty Karunia Tunjungsari, and LPPM Innovation Manager Mei Ie, S.E., M.M., cooperating with Department of Workforce, Transmigration, Cooperative, and UKM, and Politeknik eLBajo Commodus give mentoring to Small and Medium Enterprise regarding UMKM development and labor development, then held Leadership Seminar at SMAK St. Ignasius Loyola while also conducted a survey to develop tourism facilities in Labuan Bajo.
Rector Untar stated that this series of event was held in program and individually by lecturers and students, therefore, the result can be seen clearly through various achievements received by Untar, both institutionally and individually by lectures and students.
“The society development activities to counter poverty, health improvement, educational ease of access, environmental care, and various other activities have been conducted by Untar continuously. Research, publication, seminar, training, and society mentoring outcomes, can be seen through various publications in mass media, social media, Untar website, which could be accessed easily by the public. We believe, through various achievements, performance, and contributions of Untar in those fields, could be a positive value to improve SDGs implementation in Indonesia and internationally,” said Rector.
Untar has cooperated consistently with various regions, such as Belitung, Bali, Kutai Kartanegara, Mahakam Ulu, and others to support city, human resources, and natural resources development. These are the implementation of “Untar untuk (for) Indonesia”, which support Indonesia Maju (Advanced Indonesia) movement. (JS/YS/AW)
