Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) and Universitas Widya Kartika (Uwika) are exploring opportunities for collaboration in education and human resource development.
The potential collaboration was discussed during the visit of Uwika Rector Ong Peter Leonardo, B.A., M.Ed., to Untar Campus I, Jakarta, Thursday (3/9/2026).
Peter said the meeting was expected to open opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration between the two higher education institutions, including opportunities for Uwika students and lecturers to pursue further education.
“I hope this visit can open the door to further collaboration and provide opportunities for Uwika students and lecturers to pursue their studies at Untar through various master’s and doctoral programs,” he said.
During the meeting, Head of the Institute for Academic Learning and Innovation Untar Dr. Ir. Steven Darmawan, S.T., M.T., presented several further education programs that could form part of the collaboration between the two institutions.
The programs include professional, master’s, and doctoral education. In addition, the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program recognizes learning outcomes acquired through formal, non-formal, or informal education, as well as work experience, as a basis for pursuing formal education.
Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., expressed hope that the meeting would serve as an initial step for the two institutions to develop collaboration, particularly in improving the quality of human resources.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., along with university leaders and lecturers. (CJ/YS)
