Muhammad Farhan Pratama Susilo, an undergraduate medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), was crowned Abang Jakarta Utara 2026 during the grand final of the Abang None Jakarta Utara Pageant, held at the North Jakarta Intercultural School Theatre, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Thursday (16/7).
The achievement adds to Untar students’ list of non-academic accomplishments while highlighting their active participation in youth development and cultural preservation initiatives. Farhan’s success also reflects Untar’s commitment to encouraging students to excel not only academically but also through community service and leadership.
For Farhan, participating in the Abang None pageant was more than just entering a competition. He viewed the program as an opportunity to develop his personal capabilities while making meaningful contributions to Jakarta.
“I hope to carry out this responsibility to the best of my ability, make meaningful contributions to Jakarta, and support the city’s journey toward becoming a global city,” he said.
The Abang None Pageant is a tourism and cultural ambassador development program organized by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Finalists receive training in communication, leadership, and knowledge of local culture and regional potential, equipping them to represent Jakarta’s younger generation.
During the grand final, North Jakarta Mayor Hendra Hidayat said that Abang None ambassadors are expected to become the forefront of the younger generation, bridging local cultural identity with a global perspective. According to him, this role is essential in supporting Jakarta’s transformation into a global city, not only through infrastructure development but also by fostering innovative, competitive, and socially engaged human resources.
Muhammad Farhan Pratama Susilo is a 2023 cohort student at the Faculty of Medicine. He frequently serves as a speaker at various social initiatives and is actively involved in student organizations, including serving as a member of the Dewan Pertimbangan Tinggi and Head of the Human Resource Development Department of BEM FK Untar. He also served as Chair of the Student Exhibition of Purna Paskibraka Indonesia. (CJ/YS)
