The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) of Untar held its annual art festival, Rupareka 2026, under the theme “Velora: Step into the Dream of Art” from June 5–7, 2026, at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.

The event, which was open to the public and free of charge, featured a variety of artistic programs, including competitions, walk-in activities, the launch of the Artmax magazine, and a special performance by guest star Alsa Aqila.

Carrying the theme “Velora,” Rupareka 2026 invited visitors to explore a unique artistic experience through various creative and interactive activities.

This year’s Head of the Organizing Committee, Ashlee Kurniawan (2024), explained that the theme was chosen with the hope that the public would be able to discover and enjoy aspects of the art world they had never encountered before.

As an annual agenda of BEM FSRD Untar, Rupareka serves as a collaborative platform for the FSRD academic community. This year’s event was organized in collaboration with the Interior Design and Visual Communication Design study programs, as well as the Student Representative Council (DPM) of FSRD.

“Students from the Visual Communication Design (VCD) Study Program, particularly those taking entrepreneurship courses, also participated by operating various tenant booths throughout the event,” said Ashlee.

Rupareka 2026 involved a total of 68 committee members comprising students from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts, including volunteers and members of the DPM FSRD committee. The involvement of multiple cohorts reflected the organizers’ commitment to ensuring a coordinated and sustainable event.

At the opening ceremony, Dean of FSRD Untar, Dr. Maitri Widya Mutiara, S.Ds., M.M., was present and delivered welcoming remarks. On the occasion, she expressed her appreciation for the return of Rupareka 2026 to Lapangan Banteng.

Dr. Maitri noted that through a series of activities combining artistic appreciation, student creativity, and public participation, Rupareka 2026 once again became a meeting point between academia and the wider community in appreciating and advancing Jakarta’s art and design ecosystem. (VC/YS)
