The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Tarumanagara held its 149th Doctor Oath-Taking Ceremony and 88th Graduation at the Auditorium of Building J, 5th Floor, Campus I Universitas Tarumanagara on Tuesday (13/05/2026). In this ceremony, 12 new doctors were officially inaugurated, consisting of four men and eight women.
The ceremony was led directly by the Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. In his remarks, he stated that the medical profession is a noble profession with great responsibility in serving the community.
“A doctor is a noble profession dedicated to serving the community. Make yourselves noble doctors without losing the values that emphasize entrepreneurship, professionalism, and integrity,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FK Universitas Tarumanagara, Dr. dr. Noer Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ., led the oath-taking ceremony, which was conducted according to each participant’s respective religion. The oath-taking served as a symbol of moral and professional commitment of the new doctors in carrying out medical practice with strong adherence to ethics and humanitarian values.
Also present was the Vice Secretary of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Steven Nigel Bunalven, S.H., M.Sc., who delivered a message to the new doctors. He stated that the medical profession carries a humanitarian value that cannot be replaced by any technological advancement.
“The medical profession will never be replaced, because the essence of medicine lies in humanity itself. This is what makes the medical profession so noble in serving society,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the West Jakarta Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), dr. Astrid Fransisca Padang, Sp.OG., extended her congratulations to the new doctors. She also presented the Medical Code of Ethics Book as a reminder of the responsibility and professional values that must be upheld in carrying out the medical profession.
The atmosphere of the ceremony became more meaningful with the pin-wearing procession conducted by Dr. dr. Arlend Chris, M.Si., symbolizing the welcoming of the new doctors into the Tarumanagara Medical Alumni Family Association.
The remarks on behalf of the new doctors were delivered by dr. KA. Dzaky Junianda Faric Oscar, who stated that the ceremony marked the beginning of a new journey for the young doctors to dedicate themselves to society.
“This is a starting point to continue moving forward, making our struggles during our studies meaningful for the community,” he said.
The 149th Doctor Oath-Taking Ceremony and 88th Graduation marked the beginning of the professional service journey of FK Universitas Tarumanagara graduates as medical practitioners, who are expected to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector in Indonesia. (KS/YS)
