National Education Day, commemorated every May 2, serves as a momentum to reaffirm the role of education in national development. In 2026, the theme raised is “Strengthening Collective Participation to Realize Quality Education for All.” The theme emphasizes the importance of the involvement of all elements of society in supporting the creation of an inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education system.

Through this theme, education is positioned as a strategic instrument in improving the quality of human resources. Participation is not limited to the government and educational institutions, but also includes the roles of the business sector, communities, and society at large in creating an educational ecosystem that is sustainable and relevant to contemporary developments.

In the context of higher education, Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) is one of the private universities contributing to the implementation of education in Indonesia. As an academic institution, Untar carries out the tridharma of higher education, which encompasses education, research, and community service.

The implementation of these roles is reflected through structured learning activities, curriculum development aligned with industry and societal needs, as well as various community service programs that provide benefits to surrounding communities. In this regard, higher education institutions function as part of the national education system that supports the overall improvement of educational quality.
