Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) officially conferred degrees upon 1,167 graduates during its 86th Graduation Ceremony held at the Jakarta International Convention Center on Saturday (8/11/2025).
For this graduation ceremony, Untar adopted the theme “Move Beyond: Building an Impactful, Resilient, and Inspiring Generation,” in line with efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 in the field of education.
In his academic report and remarks, Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that Untar remains committed to delivering quality education to produce graduates who possess integrity, professionalism, and leadership qualities.
“Graduation is not determined solely by grades, but also by perseverance and resilience in facing the many challenges that often shake one’s path. However, the graduates have successfully overcome them with extraordinary spirit and determination,” added the Untar Rector.

Also attending the ceremony was the Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III Jakarta, Dr. Henri Togar Hasiholan Tambunan, S.E., M.A., who delivered congratulatory remarks to Untar’s new graduates.
As part of the same series of events, Dr. R.M. Gatot P. Soemartono, S.E., S.H., M.M., LL.M., a lecturer from the Faculty of Law of Untar, served as the orator of the 86th graduation ceremony.
Presenting a topic aligned with this year’s graduation theme, Move Beyond.
He highlighted three steps toward growth and inspiring success. First, move beyond your degree — viewing graduation not as an end, but as the beginning of making an impact and continuing to learn across disciplines while upholding ethics. Second, move beyond your comfort zone — not allowing comfort to limit one’s potential, because challenges foster growth. Third, move beyond yourself — using knowledge to create meaning and benefit for others.
“To the newest graduates, continue learning, growing, and moving beyond limits as you face the professional world and dedicate yourselves to society,” he stated in closing his oration.
In addition, the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) presented the Professional Certification Institution License Certificate of Untar to the Untar Rector, represented by Prof. Dr. Amilin, S.E., S.H., M.Si., Ak., CA, QIA, BKP, CRMP. The handover was witnessed by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H.
The graduates came from Untar’s eight faculties: the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, and Faculty of Communication.
On this occasion, Untar once again incorporated the cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago into the ceremony. The 86th Graduation Ceremony highlighted the culture of Central Kalimantan as part of efforts to preserve Indonesian cultural values. Untar’s ongoing commitment to featuring Nusantara cultural themes has been recognized by Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI), reflecting the university’s consistency in preserving the nation’s cultural heritage.

As part of the event, a traditional Central Kalimantan dance titled Kagenep Andau Bawi Itah was performed, symbolizing protection and hope. The dance accompanied the recitation of the Tri Dharma Satya Graduation Oath.
The dance performance was choreographed by students of the Faculty of Psychology of Untar who are members of the extracurricular unit Padmanagara in collaboration with the student activity unit Citra Pesona Untar, and it has officially received an Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) certificate.
