Hendra Noor Saleh officially earned a Doctorate in Management Science after successfully defending his dissertation during an Open Doctoral Promotion Examination held at the Auditorium of Untar Campus I on Monday (27/10/2025).
With this achievement, Dr. Hendra became the 19th Doctor of Management Science graduated from Untar’s Doctoral Program in Management Science and received the distinction of Highly Satisfactory. The examination was chaired by Director of the Untar Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng., and supervised by Main Promoter and Head of the Doctoral Program in Management Science, Prof. Dr. Haris Maupa, S.E., M.Si., alongside Co-Promoter Dr. Cokki, S.E., M.M.
In his dissertation, Dr. Hendra, who currently serves as Senior Account Director at PT Pico TDA, Singapore, examined the factors influencing consumers’ purchase intentions toward electric vehicles in Indonesia. The study was conducted to support the national adoption of electric vehicles by emphasizing the importance of understanding market-driven factors that encourage electric vehicle adoption, rather than relying solely on government regulations and policy incentives. The novelty of the research lies in its integration of variables from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)—namely perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use—with prior experience variables, including technology discomfort and customer experience.
The study involved 330 respondents from the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek) who had experience using Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method with the AMOS software package.
Through his findings, Dr. Hendra hopes that the research will contribute to both policymakers and industry stakeholders in formulating effective policies and strategies to increase public interest in purchasing electric vehicles in Indonesia.
During the examination, Dr. Hendra was evaluated by an examination panel consisting of Prof. Dr. Ir. Dyah Erny Herwindiati, M.Si., Dr. Sarwo Endy Handoyo, S.E., M.M., CIFM., GRC-E., Andi Muhammad Sadat, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Mahlia Muis, S.E., M.Si. (VC/YS)
