Meanwhile, Founder and CEO of DexWellness, David Wongso, emphasized that the partnership with Untar represents a strategic collaboration that combines academic excellence with digital innovation. “The synergy between DexWellness’ AI technology, Australia’s research ecosystem, and Untar’s academic expertise will generate measurable, human-centered wellbeing solutions,” she explained.
International Psychology Seminar
The MoA signing ceremony was accompanied by the 2025 International Psychology Seminar themed “From Reactive to Predictive Management in Mental Health.” The seminar featured three keynote speakers: David Wongso, M.M., MBA., M.Min., Psikolog, Founder of DexWellness Pty Ltd; Prof. Dr. John Vong, Research Leader of the AI Center for Health Innovation at i3L; and Dr. Roswiyani, Ph.D., Psikolog from the Faculty of Psychology Untar. Together, they discussed the transformation of mental health management approaches in the digital era from the perspectives of innovation, technology, and psychology education.
David Wongso presented a topic entitled “The Strategic Shift from Reactive to Predictive Management in Mental Health.” He highlighted that more than 50 percent of the global mental health burden occurs before the age of 40. According to him, artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in the early detection of mental health disorders and in educating families to provide support from an early stage.
Prof. Dr. John Vong delivered a presentation titled “Leveraging Data and AI in Mental Health Management.” He explained how data utilization and predictive analytics can help identify risks earlier and support the development of wellbeing dashboards as a foundation for prevention-oriented public policy.
Dr. Roswiyani also shared her perspectives on the modernization of psychology education in Indonesia. She emphasized the need to update curricula and learning methods to expand access and respond to society’s growing demand for psychological services that are relevant to contemporary challenges.
The event was conducted in an interactive format and attended by members of the Untar academic community, psychology students, and mental health practitioners. Through this initiative, Untar reaffirmed its role as a higher education institution that actively bridges academic knowledge with real-world practice while promoting interdisciplinary research in technology and psychology.
The strategic partnership with DexWellness is expected to become an important milestone for the Faculty of Psychology Untar in developing AI-based innovations that support public wellbeing and mental health, contributing to the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.
