Untar Law Professor Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi Appointed as Vice Chair of the Central Supervisory Council for Notaries

Professor of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., was officially appointed as Vice Chair of the Central Supervisory Council (MPP) for Notaries for the 2025–2028 term by the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, at Graha Pengayoman, Jakarta.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights expressed his hope that members of the Central Supervisory Council for Notaries (MPPN) and the Central Honorary Council for Notaries (MKNP) for the 2025–2028 term would uphold integrity and preserve the dignity of their institutions as platforms for the public to seek justice and legal certainty regarding misconduct by irresponsible notaries.

On the occasion, Ariawan Gunadi stated that the mandate entrusted to him represents both a responsibility and a form of service to Indonesia’s legal community. He reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the dignity of the notarial profession as one of the key pillars of the national legal system.

“I, together with other members of the MPP, will strive to strengthen supervision of notaries at the national level to ensure that the enforcement of professional ethics and disciplinary standards is carried out objectively and transparently,” he said following the appointment ceremony.

Untar Rector, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in Prof. Ariawan.

“The appointment of Prof. Ariawan Gunadi as Vice Chair of the MPP for Notaries is a source of pride for Untar. It reflects the quality of Untar academics who uphold integrity and actively contribute to strengthening Indonesia’s legal system and professional governance,” he said.

Recognized as an experienced legal scholar and practitioner, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., has made significant contributions to the development of notarial studies and professional ethics in Indonesia. His active involvement in various legal institutions and organizations demonstrates his consistent commitment to promoting integrity and justice within the legal sector.
