Untar, in collaboration with Okezone from iNews Media Group, presented Genzone Talks with the theme “Data Science and Artificial Intelligence for Gen Z.” The event was held at the Auditorium of Building M, Campus I Universitas Tarumanagara on Wednesday (1/10/2025).
The program brought together Universitas Tarumanagara students from various faculties as discussion participants. Also present was Muhammad Ridwan Rauf, S.T., M.H., Head of the Infrastructure and New Technology, Data, and Cybersecurity Team as well as representative of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), who served as the keynote speaker. He delivered a presentation titled “The AI Generation: GenZ Leading the Way.”
In addition, two expert speakers were invited to share insights, namely General Manager of Tools for Humanity Indonesia Wafa Taftazani, and AI expert as well as lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) Universitas Tarumanagara Tony, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D. The discussion took place interactively, with students actively engaging through questions and critical perspectives.
In her remarks, Vice Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psychologist emphasized Universitas Tarumanagara’s commitment to supporting activities that broaden students’ perspectives, particularly in facing global technological developments.

“Untar is always open to events like this. We are committed to ensuring that students remain aware of technological advancements so they can compete at the global level,” she said.
Editor-in-Chief of Okezone.com, Masirom, also added that the media industry has increasingly adopted AI technology to improve productivity and efficiency.
“In the media industry, we have already widely used AI. I believe this topic is very close to Gen Z students who are familiar with technology,” he said.
Meanwhile, Wafa Taftazani reminded students to use technology wisely. “AI is only a tool. It is the humans behind it who must continue to innovate and be as creative as possible. This is what drives us toward better development,” he concluded.
The event was not only held offline but also livestreamed through the Okezone YouTube channel, allowing it to reach a wider audience.
Through Genzone Talks, Universitas Tarumanagara once again reaffirmed its role as an adaptive higher education institution, collaborating with various stakeholders to equip students with up-to-date knowledge and critical skills in facing the challenges of the digital era.
