Dr. Daniel Dobrev, Head of the Trade and Economic Office at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Jakarta, served as the keynote speaker at an international guest lecture titled “Project Management” on Friday (12/09/2025) at the Untar Campus Auditorium.
During his presentation, Dobrev emphasized that project management is not merely a technical discipline but also an essential life skill.
“Project management is not just about technical matters; it is a life skill that helps us establish direction and make decisions in a more structured way. There are three important contributions of project management in life: it provides structure, meaning, and independence,” he explained.

He further highlighted the fundamental principles of any project. According to Dobrev, every project must be unique, have a defined timeframe, and be carried out within limited resources. Such limitations, he noted, encourage individuals to become more creative and efficient.
Dobrev also conveyed an important message to students, stating that a project without planning is merely a task, whereas a project supported by proper planning becomes a transformative process.
The event, which was opened by the Vice Rector of Untar, Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog., featured an interactive discussion session, with students raising questions about the practical application of project management in everyday life. Through this guest lecture, students were encouraged to develop a more structured mindset and strengthen their readiness to face global challenges through effective project management skills.
