The innovative spirit of students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Untar has once again resulted in a remarkable achievement. This time, Ferdyanto Gunawan and Kelvin, students of the Undergraduate Business Management Study Program, were named First Place winners in the National Business Plan Competition organized by Surabaya State University on Wednesday (23/07/2025).
The competition brought together young innovators from universities across Indonesia and focused on developing business plans that are both solution-oriented and adaptable to contemporary economic challenges. Beyond generating ideas, participants were also required to demonstrate strong research capabilities, effective marketing strategies, and well-prepared presentations.
According to Ferdyanto, their preparation was carried out in stages, beginning with idea development, followed by research and the formulation of presentation strategies. He emphasized that every competition comes with its own challenges, but effective communication within the team enabled them to overcome obstacles efficiently.
Meanwhile, Kelvin explained that the strength of their team stemmed from a shared vision and commitment to solving problems. Their similar academic background further strengthened the collaborative process from the initial planning stage through to the final round.
“We received tremendous support from our lecturers and the faculty, including motivation, constructive feedback, and access to facilities. That support greatly helped us during our intensive preparation process,” Kelvin said.
More than just a victory, the competition served as an opportunity for self-exploration and team development. It provided valuable experiences that not only enhanced their competencies but also instilled the importance of collaboration and the courage to embrace new challenges.
“Don’t hesitate to try new things as a way to explore your potential. In a team, it’s not about who is the most outstanding individual, but how strong we are together as a super team,” Ferdyanto and Kelvin advised their fellow Untarians.
This achievement further reinforces FEB Untar’s position as a place where young talents can grow and thrive in innovative environments. By continuously supporting students in developing ideas and tackling real-world challenges, Untar remains committed to nurturing a generation that is both creative and highly competitive.
