Tarumanagara University (Untar) reaffirms its commitment to addressing global challenges through higher education by organizing the International Conference on Applied Science, Technology and Engineering (ICASTE) and the International Conference on Economics, Business, Social and Humanities (ICEBSH) 2025. The conference was held in person on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Kun Shan University in Tainan, Taiwan, and was attended by academics, students, and speakers from various countries.
With the theme “Accelerating Global Sustainable Development Through Higher Education,” the conference featured three keynote speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chang-Lin Chuang (Kun Shan University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chan Choon Kit (INTI International University, Malaysia), and Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. (Tarumanagara Foundation).
The Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., was also present and officially opened the conference. In his speech, he expressed appreciation for the organization of this global forum and emphasized the crucial role of higher education in sustainable development. “Sustainable development is not just a goal, but a collective commitment to maintain the balance between socio-economic growth and environmental preservation,” he stressed. He also encouraged the conference participants to build cross-sector partnerships for a more just and resilient future.
In the presentation session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chang-Lin Chuang discussed Virtual AI Training Education, explaining how virtual artificial intelligence training can revolutionize technological education. Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chan Choon Kit addressed the topic of Integrating Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Human-Robot Interaction, highlighting the importance of ethical and efficient approaches in integrating technology. Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi concluded the session with a presentation titled The Importance of Education for Global Transformation, emphasizing education as a key tool in expanding influence, accelerating innovation, and promoting inclusivity in global development.
ICASTE and ICEBSH 2025 serve as concrete evidence of Untar’s efforts to strengthen international academic networks and facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration. These conferences also enrich Untar’s contribution in creating a space for constructive dialogue on global issues, while reinforcing the role of higher education institutions as key drivers of change toward a more sustainable world.
