A number of students from Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) achieved remarkable success in the Winter Programme, organized by the Tarumanagara Foundation in collaboration with the National University of Singapore and various accredited universities in Indonesia. Their achievements not only honed their academic skills but also brought honor to Untar on the international stage.

The competition featured two main categories: Best Pitch, which assessed teams with the best presentations, and Best Problem Statement, where participants were challenged to design innovative solutions for business problems presented by Raise (Singapore) and Metland (Indonesia).

From Blockchain Solutions to Fintech, Untar Students Excel

Abraham Rusty Djajani, a student from the Faculty of Information Technology (FTI), won the Best Problem Statement category after proposing the implementation of blockchain technology to accelerate the financial lending process in Singapore. His solution addressed challenges faced by small business owners, including high costs, lengthy procedures, and limited access to loans. Although blockchain has not been formally taught at FTI Untar, Abraham successfully applied his knowledge of technology logic and algorithms to develop this innovation.

Not only Abraham, but Gracella Nathania and Yosadara Paramita from the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) also secured victories in the Fintech category. Meanwhile, Louis Anthony from the Faculty of Medicine and Josephine Jolivina from the Faculty of Psychology won in the Edutech category.

In the Metland Problem Statement category, Haritsyah Hekmatyar from the Faculty of Medicine and Michaelia Carissa Iwan from the Faculty of Economics & Business secured second place, while Yoga Nugraha from the Faculty of Engineering won third place.

Meanwhile, Ivan from the Faculty of Engineering won the Best Pitch award for his outstanding presentation and pitching skills.

More Than a Competition: A Valuable Experience for Students

This achievement is a testament to the spirit and dedication of Untar students in creating creative solutions for challenges in the business and technology sectors. Beyond winning awards, participants also gained valuable opportunities to hone their entrepreneurial skills, broaden their cross-cultural perspectives, and build professional networks.

“Love the problem as deeply as possible, and you will find the best solution from it,” said Abraham Rusty Djajani, one of the winners of this event, in an inspiring message. (VC/YS/AJ/VC)
