In commemoration of National Heroes Day and National Teacher’s Day 2024, the Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Indonesia on National Defense, General (Ret.) TNI Prof. Dr. H. Dudung Abdurachman, S.E., M.M., delivered a guest lecture on the theme “Strengthening Nationalism Awareness for Students in Supporting National Leadership,” on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Untar Campus.
Prof. Dudung conveyed that the values of Indonesian nationalism, such as respecting differences, prioritizing the common good, willingness to sacrifice, perseverance, mutual cooperation, optimism, nationalism, and dignity, should serve as guiding principles. The values of Pancasila must be the foundation for maintaining the unity of the nation.

He emphasized that students also play the role of moral force, setting an example in society, political control by communicating policies to the public, and guardian of values in preserving the noble values of the nation.
“The current generation of youth plays a crucial role as agents of change in social and political life. Focus on the future, forget the past, and strive for your ideals by doing your best today. Face challenges with optimism and the courage to take risks, which will pave the way for success and have a positive impact on both yourself and society,” he stated in front of hundreds of Untar students.
He also added that the current generation of youth will be the leaders of the future, succeeding the previous generation, and becoming the driving force that shapes the nation’s journey towards greater progress.
The Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., in his speech, stated that this public lecture could raise awareness and touch the hearts of students in strengthening their sense of nationalism and supporting national leadership.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., hopes that this event will inspire and foster a sense of enthusiasm and love for the country among the students.
The public lecture left a deep impression on the students who attended that morning. One of those who expressed this impression was Wellson Arta, a student from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Untar.
“This public lecture was very educational because it provided valuable lessons for the younger generation to actively support national leadership. We are not only expected to study, but also to socialize with our classmates, so we can manage stress and become more productive,” said Wellson. (VC/YS/PA/VC)
