The competition team from the Industrial Engineering Program, Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Untar, has once again achieved remarkable success by winning 2nd place in the National Physics Debate held at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung, on November 8-9, 2024. The competition, titled Physics Festival 10.0, carried the theme “Exploring the World Changes Through Physics.”
Out of the five teams that advanced to the elimination round, two teams from Industrial Engineering Untar performed exceptionally well. The team consisting of Moses and Angelina successfully won 2nd place, while the team of Marthinus and Stephanie also delivered an outstanding performance, reaching the final round. Both teams were directly guided by the Head of the Industrial Engineering Program, Dr. Ir. Wilson Kosasih, M.T., I.P.M., A.E., who consistently strives to encourage the spirit and achievements of students.
The teams prepared themselves through intensive discussions, in-depth research on relevant global topics, and direct guidance from Dr. Wilson Kosasih, who provided valuable insights and strategies for facing the debate competition.
In addition to honing debate skills, this competition also provided participants with the opportunity to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by formulating solutions to current global issues. Some of the topics discussed included the development of the semiconductor industry, renewable energy, the readiness for the implementation of Nuclear Power Plants (PLTN), and artificial intelligence (AI). This approach made the event even more engaging and challenging.
Active participation in this national competition demonstrates that the Industrial Engineering Program at Untar offers high-quality education and is consistently committed to producing graduates who are excellent, competent, and ready to compete on the global stage. (VC/PA/YS/VC)
