Untar’s 65-year journey has been filled with challenges and achievements, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in academic quality and social contribution. It is hoped that Untar will continue to produce graduates who are mindful of sustainability and pioneers of innovative solutions. This statement was delivered by the Head of the Higher Education Service Institution Region III (LLDikti III), Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc., during the peak celebration of Untar’s 65th Anniversary on Saturday (2/11/2024) at Untar’s Campus II.
He expressed pride in the innovative spirit of Untar’s academic community and hoped that this spirit would inspire other institutions under LLDikti III to collectively build an educational ecosystem supporting sustainable development. “I commend Untar’s dedication to producing a generation that is not only intelligent but also cares about the environment and the nation’s future,” he added.
The peak celebration, which involved Untar’s academic community, carried the theme “Innovation for Sustainable Development”. The theme underscores Untar’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlights the importance of innovation and collaboration in achieving its vision of becoming an excellent and globally competitive educational institution.
Untar Rector, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that unity is key to enhancing performance and fostering a productive and innovative academic environment. In realizing Untar’s goal of becoming a world-class university, synergy and collaboration must be maintained to address global challenges and make greater contributions to the nation and the world. “Untar is committed to consistently delivering tangible contributions to the nation, the state, and the world while realizing its vision as an institution of integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship,” he added.
The anniversary celebration was also supported by Untar alumni who have achieved success as entrepreneurs and professionals across various fields. Additionally, industry partners and local MSMEs around the campus were involved, reflecting the business community’s support and Untar’s care for MSMEs.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Management Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., along with board members and West Jakarta government officials. “We are born in the community and exist to serve the community. Untar graduates must continuously grow to meet societal needs and become solutions that deliver positive impacts,” Ariawan said in his remarks.
Untar’s Anniversary falls on October 1, and a series of activities have been held to commemorate the occasion, including various sports competitions, blood donation drives, cultural performances, and faculty-organized seminars.
