The Undergraduate Urban and Regional Planning – Real Estate Study Program (PWK-RE) of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Untar and the Department of Real Estate, Universiti Malaya (RE UM), held a public lecture at Untar Campus I on Friday (12/7/2024).
The event, themed “Land Acquisition in Malaysia,” featured Prof. (I) Sr Mohd Khairudin bin Abd Halim, FRICS, FISM, FMIPFM, MBVAM, ICVS as the keynote speaker. The lecture was attended by students from Universiti Malaya and Untar’s PWK-RE program.
Khairudin shared insights into Malaysia’s land acquisition process, covering parliamentary legislation, government requirements, and procedures for appealing decisions to higher authorities.
Two students from RE UM, Muhammad Jamaludin and Joey, expressed their enthusiasm about participating in the event. “As RE UM students, we had the opportunity to enjoy the experience while exchanging insights on culture, architecture, regulations, and many other aspects of Indonesia, especially at Untar,” they said.
Secretary of Untar’s PWK-RE Study Program, Nadia Ayu Rahma Lestari, S.T., M.Sc., expressed hope that the activity would strengthen the relationship between the two institutions. She also emphasized that students would gain valuable experience interacting with peers from different backgrounds and learning in an international environment.
The public lecture was part of a series of activities under the theme “Integrated Real Estate Project 2024,” which has been running since July 9, 2024, and is being conducted by Universiti Malaya during its short semester program. The event also served as an implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) previously established between the two universities. (CS/YS/KJ)
