Ida Puspitowati graduated with the distinction of cum laude after presenting her dissertation entitled “Determinants of Women-Owned Micro and Small Enterprise Performance with Product Innovation as a Mediating Variable in Belitung Regency” on Friday (14/6) at the Auditorium of Campus I Untar.

The study involved 135 women-owned micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Belitung Regency. The research aimed to identify the factors influencing the performance of micro and small enterprises and was motivated by the limited number of studies focusing on MSEs outside Java Island.

The findings revealed significant and positive effects of financial access, social networks, and product innovation on the performance of women-owned MSEs in Belitung Regency.

Based on the results, Ida also recommended that the Government of Belitung Regency formulate policies that can further encourage the growth and development of women-owned micro and small enterprises in the region.

Principal Promoter Prof. Ir. Carunia Mulya Firdausy, M.ADE., Ph.D. stated that Ida’s achievement marks an important step in the development of Untar’s human resources and contributes to the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.

The sixth Open Examination of Untar’s Doctor of Management Science Program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. The examination committee included Prof. Dr. Haris Maupa, S.E., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Otto Randa Payangan, S.E., M.Si., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dyah Erny Herwindiati, M.Si. as examiners, while Prof. Ir. Carunia Mulya Firdausy, M.ADE., Ph.D. and Dr. Sarwo Edy Handoyo, S.E., M.M., CIFM. served as principal promoter and co-promoter, respectively. (VH/AW/KJ)
