Untar graduated the first doctor from the Doctor of Management Science Study Program (Prodi DIM) of Untar Postgraduate Program in an Open Examination at the Auditorium of Untar Campus I, Monday (10/6).
Isyak Meirobie became the first graduate with his dissertation entitled “Determinant Model of Sustainable Performance of Micro Business.” Isyak has served as Vice Regent of Belitung, Bangka Belitung Islands Province for 2018-2023 period.
On the same day, Paula T. Anggarina also graduated and earned her doctoral degree. Paula, who serves as Head of Untar Public Relations Office, defended her dissertation entitled “Reputation Management in Private Universities (PTS) through Public Relations Empowerment.”
The two doctors graduated through a six-semester study period since the DIM Study Program was established at the end of August 2020. The first batch of Untar’s DIM Study Program numbered eleven people and took the open examination in stages during June 2024.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. who chaired the open session said this was Untar’s contribution in developing the quality of human resources for the progress of the nation.
“The research results and novelty obtained are very proud and beneficial for the development of management science that can be practically implemented in the business world and higher education,” said the Rector.
The topics raised by the graduates this time varied, among others, empowering MSMEs, reputation management of PTS, family business development, and military education curriculum development.
According to the Rector, this is a very good finding and fills various theoretical gaps and provides practical guidelines in its implementation. The research outputs have also been published in various reputable journals that can have a broad impact on the development of science.
“We hope that Untar’s Management Science Doctoral Program, which has been accredited Excellent, can continue to develop and produce various achievements that benefit the community and enhance Untar’s reputation,” concluded the Rector who also serves as Director of the DIM Study Program.
Meanwhile, the Head of Higher Education Service Institution Region III (LLDikti III) Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, M.Sc. who attended the event said that LLDikti III continues to strive for the accreditation of private universities to increase.
According to him, Paula’s research is in line with the vision of LLDikti III and should be followed up as a reference for improving the quality of PTS.
“Thank you Mrs. Paula, we are waiting for the dissertation to be read so that later it can improve the quality of LLDikti III in serving the quality of higher education,” said Toni.
On the same occasion, two Nusantara Achievements from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) were presented. The first award was given to Dr. Isyak Meirobie, S.Sn., M.Si. as the first graduate of Untar’s DIM Study Program. While the second one was given to Untar as the University that organized the first graduate of Untar DIM Study Program.
Isyak, who is also an alumnus of Untar’s Bachelor of Interior Design, admitted that Untar creates a comfortable atmosphere for its students through communication, administration, and attention from leaders, lecturers, and education staff.
“Studying at DIM Untar is quite challenging in terms of learning and research methods, but all staffs are responsive in guiding and responding to their students,” said Isyak. (AW/YS/PA/KJ)
